The “Mani in Pasto” project, one of the many ways in which the Aias (Italian Association for Assistance to Spastics) has concluded with the delivery of the certificates. Casoria promotes the inclusion of disabled children and their integration into the world of work.
In fact, the two free training courses, Ceramic Artisan Operator (lasting 50 hours) and Marketing and Communication (30 hours), aimed also at the families of the disabled and volunteers already involved in the third sector, have concluded.
Through seventeen, between theoretical lessons and workshops, the students first acquired the techniques of ceramic modelling and then put them into practice, guided by a craftsman, successfully dabbling in cutting the clay, in working with forms until finally firing the created works in the ovens.
With the marketing and communication course, the students acquired – in ten lessons – a good grounding in the techniques of selling and promoting their products in the context of the importance of communication, on the web as well as on other tools.
The “Mani in Pasto” project (ID. n.19, free training courses established following public notice DD 446/2019 of the Campania Region) formally closed last Friday, with the delivery of certificates in the presence of the president of Aias Salvatore Giacometti, the councilor Lello Marangio (writer, playwright and comic author) and the other members of the Casoria section.
The boys were enthusiastic about the experience they had undertaken, which was useful for having a few more chances in the world of work and extremely important for securing their social integration, having studied and worked closely with the volunteers and some family members, using their time in a constructive and creative way, acquiring knowledge to carry out the role within a ceramics laboratory.
During the courses, the parallels and differences with other professional figures related to Social Services were also observed. Some disabled children from the “Centro Sociale Polifunzionale” of Aias discovered that they have a strong manual ability, combined with a good artistic sense. Someone else instead followed the marketing lessons with deep interest, satisfying various curiosities on the subject.
"Despite the pandemic and the economic crisis, we are not stopping with the projects and workshops - underlined the president of the Aias of Casoria Salvatore Giacometti - and we are happy, with these courses, to have provided tools to promote the inclusion of disabled people, in society as in the world of work.
They and the other students have acquired new or more in-depth concepts and, regardless of whether or not they will find concrete opportunities in the world of work, they have had a chance to grow. We thank the Campania Region because it is an institution that is always generous with important public notices and announcements for the third sector. We hope that other institutions will always be able to find ideas and funds to support Aias and similar non-profit organizations".
The association does not stop, in fact, having already launched the project “Nessuno Escluso”, and about to take off the “Mani in Pasto 2.0”, the most recently funded, all aimed at the job placement of young disabled people.
