Area Domizia, 113 “smart alecs” of the Citizenship Income reported: since 2021 the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Caserta has ascertained frauds for more than 3 million euros.
The checks by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Caserta continue, aimed at tracking down the "smart alecs" of the Citizen's Income.
This time the inspection concerned the Domizia area, where the Territorial Department of Mondragone and the Sessa Aurunca Company are competent.
Italian and foreign citizens ended up under the lens. Thanks to the cross-examination of documentary data and the results acquired during specific services, it was possible to ascertain numerous irregularities in the procedures for declaring possession of the requirements.
Specifically, the following were detected and contested:
– receipt of the income even in the presence of definitive sentences of conviction for crimes for which the forfeiture of the benefit is instead foreseen;
– the submission of false declarations relating to fictitious residences, with the aim of concealing the existence of other members of the family unit who are income earners or owners of real estate;
– irregularities on the national territory of foreign citizens who have falsely self-certified their residence in Italy.
Among the irregular positions that emerged were 15 people who were receiving the benefit while under house arrest. There is the case of a couple, he under special surveillance and she under house arrest.
Another 8 people, however, were found to have previous convictions for common crimes.
They were then reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office Santa Maria Capua Vetere for aggravated fraud in obtaining public funds 113 people, against whom procedures have been initiated for the suspension and retroactive revocation of the unduly received Income, for a financial damage of over 800.000 euros.
From 2021 to today, the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Caserta has reported a total of almost 700 people at liberty, for a proven fraud of more than 3 million euros.
