Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, 91, was detained for several hours at Sao Paulo's Campinas airport in Brazil for illegal possession of weapons. During a baggage check, officials discovered a gun.
The incident occurred yesterday evening and was reported today by Brazilian television Globo. Ecclestone admitted to owning the gun but did not produce any documentation. Ecclestone said he bought the gun from a Formula 1 mechanic five years ago.
