Naples, Manfredi: “Necessary to close the waste cycle. We must invest in plants”.
"We need to close the waste cycle and this means having the facilities that allow us to resolve, at the regional and metropolitan level, the entire waste cycle. We need to invest in the facilities that are essential to guarantee the safety and cost-effectiveness of the cycle."
The mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, said this during the debate at the Teatro di Corte of Palazzo Reale for the 130th anniversary of Il Mattino. Manfredi recalled that “one of the first acts of our administration was the approval of the composting plant in San Giovanni, which will be followed by a second plant, the modernization of the disposal of secondary materials and we made the request for financing for latest generation plants.
We are at the limits and we are feeling the effects of the war because a small part, fortunately, is sent out on ships and with the logistical difficulties linked to the war crisis and the increase in transport costs, our cycle is working at the limit".
