There are 22.438 new cases Covid registered in Italy in the last 24 hours, compared to 29.875 yesterday but above all to 30.408 infections last Wednesday, confirming a constantly decreasing weekly trend. The swabs processed are 220.101 (yesterday 269.971) with the positivity rate falling from 11,1% to 10,2%.
The deaths are 114 (yesterday 95) and not 137 as initially reported, due to yesterday's data from the Emilia Romagna Region subsequently recovered. The total victims since the beginning of the pandemic rise to 166.264. Hospitalizations are still decreasing: there are 19 fewer patients in intensive care (yesterday -1), with 22 daily admissions, and they are 271 in total, while in ordinary wards there are 288 fewer (yesterday -131), 5.969 in total.
This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health. The region with the highest number of cases today is Lombardy with 2.874 infections, followed by Lazio (+2.436), Campania (+2.354), Emilia-Romagna (+2.152) and Sicily (+1.847). The total cases since the beginning of the pandemic reach 17.312.432.
The discharged/recovered in the last 24 hours are 40.323 (yesterday 21.327) for a total that rises to 16.353.585. The currently positive are 17.438 fewer (yesterday -21.327) for a total that falls to 792.583. Of these, 786.343 are in home isolation.
