Scampia, landfill in front of the ecological island near the nomad camp. Borrelli: “Ecological bomb demonstrates environmental degradation”
Another landfill alarm in Scampia. Once again the situation has become dramatic in the vicinity of the illegal Roma camp as reported by a citizen to the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli:
“It's incredible that right in front of the ecological island (in Viale della Resistenza) there is this eyesore.”
The images accompanying the report are shocking, they show a real ecological bomb.
“We have requested on several occasions for remediation interventions, the situation is extremely dangerous, we must not waste time. However, we know very well that in a short time the waste will start to accumulate again at an impressive rate.
Prevention and monitoring activities are needed here and, even more importantly, the camp must be dismantled and cleared out once and for all.
This ecological bomb demonstrates the environmental degradation that is created in these contexts and this absolutely cannot be allowed any longer.” – said Borrelli who in the past few days had already visited the site which is becoming more dangerous and polluted every day.
