Actor and singer Gennaro Cannavacciuolo died suddenly this morning in Rome. His wife Christine gave the news to ANSA. Having just turned sixty, originally from Pozzuoli (NA), Cannavacciuolo grew up in the school of Eduardo De Filippo.

An extremely elegant and eclectic entertainer, he has graced all the theatres in Italy, from the San Carlo in Naples to the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, from the Sistina in Rome to the Augusteo in Naples and the Manzoni in Milan, playing the most diverse roles, both prose and singing, as well as recitals and one-man shows. Among his latest engagements, the homage on stage to “Yves Montand. Un italien a' Paris” and this winter’s tour of “Milva. Donna di teatro”, in which he had sewn together notes from some of the singer’s greatest hits and moments from her theatrical interpretations, from Brecht to Patroni Griffi.

Also active in cinema and television, Cannavacciuolo was also in the international series Clash of Future, for which he was awarded in the role of Silvio Crespi. He had lived in Rome for years, where he leaves his wife and nine-year-old son.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 14:XNUMX pm in the church of San Bellarmino.
