Gragnano. The Naples Prosecutor's Office has requested life imprisonment for Maurizio Apicella and Ciro Di Lauro, believed to be the murderers of Nicholas De Martino and the attempted murder of Carlo Langelotti, both linked by family ties to a criminal family from Gragnano, in the province of Naples.
The deputy prosecutor of the DDA Giuseppe Cimmarotta has advanced his requests for conviction today before the judges of the second criminal section of the Court of Assizes of Naples. Apicella is defended by the lawyers Carlo Taormina and Giuliano Sorrentino; Di Lauro by the lawyer Francesco Romano. Langellotti, instead, who constituted himself as a civil party, is defended by the lawyer Raffaele Chiummariello.
The victim's mother, Maria Carfora, defended by the lawyer Antonio Rocco Briganti, and Nicholas' brother, Gennaro, defended by the lawyer Raffaele Attanasio, also joined the civil action. The next hearing, during which the defendants' lawyers will argue, has been set for June 3. Nicholas, who was just 17 years old, was stabbed to death once, on the night of May 25, 2020, in Gragnano, with a 9-centimeter long blade.
