Agreement signed in Caserta between the Prefecture and ABI against robberies, frauds and cyber crimes. The Protocol strengthens the collaboration between banking institutions and police forces in the area
The new Memorandum of Understanding for the prevention of crime against banks and customers has been signed at the Prefecture of Caserta.
The agreement was signed by the Prefect of Caserta Giuseppe Castaldo and Marco Iaconis of the Italian Banking Association (ABI), representing the credit institutions present in the province.
The Protocol strengthens the collaboration between banking institutions and police forces on the territory, with the assistance of the ABI research centre on anti-crime security (OSSIF), implementing the National Framework Agreement stipulated between the Ministry of the Interior and ABI.
The aim is to prevent thefts and robberies at bank branches, as well as attacks on ATMs, especially by strengthening protection systems and devices to locate or render unusable stolen banknotes.
Particular attention is paid to initiatives to combat cybercrime and prevent fraud, especially against older people.
