Ischia. Coast Guard checks: fines of 7.500 euros and 110 kilos of fish products seized.
This is the result of the control activity by the military personnel of the Maritime District Office of Ischia, under the coordination of the Maritime Directorate of Campania. The controls carried out within the territory of the island of Ischia, had as their primary objective the verification of the information that must accompany the fish product in each commercial phase, the so-called traceability, as well as the failure to comply with the rules regarding correct information to the final consumer and compliance with the regulations regarding the conservation and expiry of the fish product. During the controls, administrative sanctions were imposed on restaurateurs for a total of 7.500 euros and the seizure of approximately 110 kg of fish product of unknown origin, untraced and therefore without the documentation certifying the origin and the method of capture was carried out. Furthermore, a fisherman was identified, within the waters of the Marine Protected Area, intent on underwater fishing with a speargun. The man was fined and the fishing gear was seized.
