At the Punk Tank Café, Friday 13 May, Vernissage “Interesse Culturale” by Luca De Martino: “Enter unarmed! Eliminate now from your mind all thoughts of sex, work and war. Something remains. It is important.".
“I believe in the culture of every people and tribe: Only by finding common ground in the experiences that history tells us can we still have a habitable planet for humanity.
By searching among the thousands of images and information that we receive every day and all day, what can truly lead to an improvement and a positive evolution of the dynamics of human desire, we can overcome the inhumanity and inhumanity that are enveloping this world in darkness”.
Luca De Martino wants to underline the lack of cultural interest in most social relationships, whether they are real and concrete or virtual and imaginary.
He challenges the attentive eye of the viewer to identify the hundreds of artistic and literary references present in each of his photocompositions or pre-paintings.
In this exhibition event the contemporary artist has extracted 12 Tables from the over 1100 catalogue proposals published daily on @unaseriedicose and @unaseriedicosequaderni (Instagram from Meta) and created via iPhone applications from March 2020 to today.
The photocompositions or pre-paintings were born from the need to express emotions in a humanly very repressive period and conformed to a dual order in eternal contrast.
They are digital compositions of photographs taken by the artist, mainly in Naples where he was born and currently lives, and created on three or more levels following the scheme: 'Supporting, significant, meaning. But how much are these works worth?'.
If the interest is such as to reflect on where the creative act ends and pure vandalism begins, if one notices on which border line the separation between works of cultural interest and the pure and authentic trade of furnishing accessories rests, then, to see other panoramas, to escape from mediocre normality, to stimulate the essential curiosity of living,
to discover what information a photograph hides, to conceive the construction of a masterpiece and to better understand which artists respond to their own research with the mission of reaching a vast and heterogeneous public that accepts reality with the desire to change.
"Enter unarmed, you will come out cleaner in soul. Now eliminate from your mind thoughts of sex, work and war. Something remains”.
