Luna Miguel, editor, poet, narrator and journalist, will lead a series of four meetings at the Instituto Cervantes in Naples dedicated to the literary works of young millennials Andrea Abreu, Cristina Morales and Aixa de la Cruz.
From May 11 to June 8, Miguel will open a literary debate on the works in their national and international context, dealing with themes such as friendship and feminism, which the writers address with a particular gaze. Four appointments - online and in person - with some of the most interesting new Spanish authors.
With the first meeting on May 11, Luna Miguel will introduce the work of some young Spanish authors, who are tracing new narrative references of the most recent literary scene. How to read contemporary women writers? an approach to contemporary Spanish literature guided by an interesting group of millennial writers, in Spanish recently translated into Italian.
The appointment at 18 pm will be live streamed on Zoom upon reservation at cultnap@cervantes.es, with simultaneous translation.
On May 25th it will be the turn of How to read “Cambiar de idea” and “Panza de burro”. In this meeting, Luna Miguel will talk about the work of Aixa de la Cruz, a Spanish writer and playwright who has won many awards and is considered one of the top five talents in the world of Spanish art, and Andrea Abreu, a writer and journalist born in 95, selected as one of the 25 best authors of her generation.
Miguel will analyze two works in particular, Cambiar de idea (translated into Italian with the title Transito) and Panza de Burro in their most innovative aspects, linked to national and international contexts. The meeting on Wednesday, June 1st will be dedicated to the figure of Cristina Morales, a Spanish writer, considered one of the most original authors on the current literary scene. With How to read “Lectura fácil”, Luna Miguel will analyze her first novel published in Italy and winner of the Premio Nacional de Narrativa and the Premio Herralde de Novela.
Thanks to the author's genius and intuition, the novel has become a hilarious work and a milestone in the current Spanish literary scene. The four protagonists who share an apartment in Barcelona, linked by a relationship of kinship and by what medicine and the State define as intellectual disability, become a manifesto against the violence of heteropatriarchy and a celebration of the female body and sexuality.

On June 8, Luna Miguel will close the cycle with a conference in person at the Instituto Cervantes in Naples (Via Chiatamone, 6G), entitled How to Access the Writing of Millennials, a free meeting that analyzes the figures who have marked a new generation of female writers.
Through the texts of the selected authors, the aspects related to friendship will be addressed, how each one faces feminism, in addition to a long list of aspects intertwined in the pages of these young talents.
