As part of the services arranged by the Carabinieri Forestale Group of Naples, the military of the Forestry Stations of Marigliano and Roccarainola have carried out a series of checks in public establishments in the agro-Nolano area that deal with the sale of pesticides both wholesale and retail.
During the operations also took place with the personnel of theAsl Na3 Sud Uopc1 of Marigliano were found - in a house adjacent to a specific shop of the sector - large quantities of pesticides stored in unsuitable premises. For this reason the owner, administratively sanctioned, was ordered to immediately move what was found.
Also fined 4 thousand euros was the owner of a wholesale pesticide store that stored insecticides and pesticides in a warehouse. The man had not complied with the requirements of the Consolidated Environmental Act by not having the loading and unloading register of hazardous special waste from the tank that should contain wastewater in the event of accidents.
It is worth remembering that those who carry out activities that sell these products, in order to avoid incurring sanctions, must be authorised to sell with the so-called licence issued by the Campania Region pursuant to Legislative Decree 150/2012.
Even the professional buyer must have the appropriate qualification, therefore pesticides cannot be sold to just anyone.
The indiscriminate use of these products can have consequences on the environment and on food, compromising the environmental matrix and putting the health of consumers at risk.
These specific checks will continue in the next few days also because they are used more in the spring.
