Midsummer weekend, with muggy weather and temperatures above seasonal averages in much of Italy.
According to the latest heat wave bulletin from the Ministry of Health, tomorrow in six cities – Bologna, Florence, Latina, Napoli, Perugia and Rome – the level 2 alert (“orange dot”) will be triggered, today limited to Florence, Frosinone, Latina and Perugia; on Saturday the level 2 alert (with weather conditions that may represent “a risk to health, particularly in the most susceptible population subgroups”) will concern Genoa only.
Temperatures during the hottest hours will exceed 30 degrees, with perceived peaks of 34 in Naples, 33 in Florence, 32 in Bologna, Latina and Perugia and 31 in Rome.
