The painter and sculptor Mimmo Palladino chose Monte Sant'Angelo (Foggia), a city with two UNESCO sites, as the film set for his debut on the big screen.
The film is titled 'Inferno, between Dante and the Neapolitan Nativity Scene', and is produced by Run film and Nuovo Teatro, with Rai Cinema and the contribution of the Campania Region and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. Palladino will film between Monte Sant'Angelo and Mattinata in Puglia, and Benevento and Naples in Campania.
Among the Apulian locations there are the Unesco sites of Monta Sant'Angelo, namely the sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo and the Umbra Forest, and the abbey of Santa Maria a Pulsano (Taranto). The cast also includes Toni Servillo, Nino d'Angelo, Alessandro Haber, Giovanni Esposito e Sergio Rubini who are busy filming in Gargano these days.
