"To the Cardarelli 250 beds are missing”. This is the complaint of Anaao Assomed which has called a press conference to clarify the aspects on Friday 27 May at 11.30 at the headquarters in Via Sant'Aspreno 13.
“In March 2020, with the start of the Covid pandemic, the Cardarelli underwent a slow but progressive dismantling and a distortion of the hospital, a center of excellence for emergencies and elections – continues Anaao Assomed Campania.
To make room for two covid departments, the orthopedics department was moved from pavilion H, temporarily and approximately relocated to other pavilions of the hospital, the week surgery department was closed, which from Monday to Friday allowed the performance of scheduled low and medium intensity surgical interventions, which still today represent 60% of all surgical interventions. “Furthermore, there was a compression of the maxillofacial, ophthalmology and ENT departments with a 50% decrease in bed spaces, so 5 covid departments were set up, managed by pulmonologists and internists with the collaboration of the staff of all the specialties present in the hospital. The covid intensive care was naturally managed by anesthetists.
The M building dedicated to intramoenia disappears, which allowed the company a significant income and allowed citizens to exercise the free choice of professional and the doctor to practice the liberal profession regulated by state laws. Currently this M building is still dedicated to dependent network covid patients. This reduction in bed places occurred while since 2013 the renovation (not the construction) of two pavilions containing between 250 and 300 beds was expected”.
