Naples. Little Vincenzo's dream came true: 'Swimming in a big pool'.
All Scandone swimming pool of Naples the Sports Councillor of the Municipality of Napoli, Emmanuel Ferrante, attended the charity event organized by the volunteer organization “Lo Sportello dei Sogni” created with the aim of promoting the realization of the “heart's desire” for patients suffering from oncological pathologies.
This is how the dream of the little Vincenzo, three years old, very young cancer patient being treated by the team of Dr. Abate at the Santobono hospital, who had long wanted, being already an expert swimmer, to be able to immerse himself in a large swimming pool.
To make little Vincenzo's dream of swimming in the Scandone pool come true, the swimmers of the company were present Phlegraean Dolphin, who went into the water with him wearing their costumes Aladin and the Genie of the Lamp, the child's favorite characters.
Vincenzo went into the water in the arms of his mother, a former professional swimmer who introduced him to swimming. “He asked me many times if he could go back to the pool- the woman said in front of the cameras of the regional Rai- and after a year the return to the water was exciting”
“Today we made the dream of little Vincenzo, who is suffering from a serious illness, come true, giving him and his family moments of lightheartedness”, declared the Councilor for Sport and Equal Opportunities Emanuela Ferrante.
And then he added: “It was truly a great emotion to see him smile. My heartfelt thanks go to the entire network that got moving so that Vincenzo could swim in a pool all to himself.
Without the collaboration of the municipal services, the swimmers of the Delfino Flegrea society and the association "Lo sportello dei sogni", the magic would not have taken shape. Once again the power of sport has managed to unite to share the joy and make the dream of a little athlete come true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!".
