In recent days, the Finance Police of the Provincial Command of Salerno have executed a preventive seizure order of over 940.000 euros, issued by the GIP of the Court at the headquarters at the request of this Prosecutor's Office, against a company in the logistics sector and its legal representative.
The precautionary measure arises at the end of an inspection activity started by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Salerno on the basis of a risk analysis by the Special Revenue Unit of the Financial Police of Rome, relating to taxpayers who have used tax credits recognised for carrying out "research and development activities" as compensation.
In essence, this is a regulatory provision designed to stimulate innovation and business competitiveness through internal research (“intra-muros”), or by making use of external entities (“extra-muros”).
In light of the findings of the investigations carried out by the Finance Police, the administrator of the company in question, resident in the Agro nocerino-sarnese, had unduly used credits that were actually non-existent, attributable to an activity completely devoid of the characteristics of novelty, creativity, systematicity, transferability and reproducibility required by the sector regulations.
Furthermore, during the investigations, the military found that the explanatory reports summarizing the research carried out by the company contained entirely innovative content, having been borrowed from other studies, sector analyses or popular articles.
By virtue of such investigative evidence, the Guardia di Finanza proceeded to seize financial liquidity for over 940.000 euros, found in a current account of the company, reaching the full amount set by the Judge.
The operation demonstrates the constant attention paid by the Judiciary and the Guardia di Finanza to verify the regular perception of incentives and public resources granted to businesses and private citizens for the purpose of relaunching the national economy.
