Sunday 15th May at 19pm, last appointment at Our Theatre for “Sottocoperta”, the children's theatre festival curated by Il Teatro Nel Baule, with “Into the woods”, the story of “The Fake Grandmother”, an ancestor of the more famous “Little Red Riding Hood” in which the little girl is able to save herself by turning to the community.
In this version, the little girl begins her journey to ask her grandmother who lives on the other side of the forest for the sieve. Only a cruel killer whale has taken the place of the grandmother. On this journey, the little girl will meet some strange characters who will help her, thanks to her generosity, to save herself.
In this ancient version of “Little Red Riding Hood” the figure of the hunter is absent: the little girl is perfectly capable of managing on her own, she is smart and intelligent and creates allies along the way (the Jordan River and the Gate) who will help her save herself from the killer whale.
It is the story, therefore, of a little girl who becomes a woman, self-determining and, at the same time, freeing herself through the help of a community.
The chosen language is the theater of objects. The story of “La Finta Nonna” is realized by recreating the miniature scenography on a table. The objects are filmed from very close, to alter the perception of the size of things.
The manipulation of the environments and the protagonist is all done in full view, without hiding the theatrical artifice. The video will be made live, to give viewers the opportunity to simultaneously see the process - the actors who move, speak and film - and its result: the video.
