The restoration of the fresco by Mattia Preti at Porta San Gennaro, the oldest gateway in the walls of Naples, is on the short list of the IX edition of the Premio Cultura + Impresa in the category Business Investments in Art Bonus.
The initiative was born from a proposal by FAI Campania in collaboration with the Municipality of Naples, created by the Neapolitan Restorers Association and supported by Friends of Naples, with the supervision of the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the municipality of Naples and with the extraordinary contribution of the Neapolitan Building Contractors Association (ACEN), Gianfranco D'Amato, Ranieri Impiantistica, Thomas Dane Gallery and Infracoop.
The restoration project was curated by the Neapolitan Restorers Association (Emanuele Vitulli – works director arch. Gennaro Piezzo) with the participation of the companies MIDA by Claudio Falcucci, Del Core Restyling, Home Decoration by Nicola Dublino, SIE by Stefano Ciotola and the Casolaro Company.
This project is the demonstration of how the dialogue between Business and the Arts is increasingly close, when communication, creativity and innovation meet contributing to affirm Culture as one of the most relevant and distinctive assets of our Country.
The CULTURA + IMPRESA Award, now in its 9th edition, is dedicated to this very dialogue. It is the most important Italian observatory on cultural Sponsorships and Partnerships, Corporate Cultural Productions and on Corporate Investments in Art Bonus.
As every year, the Award thus becomes a unique 'photograph' of the trends of this increasingly strategic alliance between Business and Culture.
Francesco Moneta, President of the Culture + Business Committee, sums up: “In some territories and urban contexts, culture has been the driving force behind the recovery, encouraging the activity of traders and artisans; the Arts are an effective language with which to spread urgent issues such as environmental issues or relevant ones such as the excellence of our territories and the care and well-being of people; cultural projects of various sizes, and not only associated with the Art Bonus, have been able to create 'teams' and network no longer single or few companies, but real territorial networks; digital innovation and gamification are now increasingly areas of common innovation between Public and private cultural enterprises and operators.
Non-occasional cultural projects are at the heart of the re-launch and affirmation of Cities, Companies, Foundations, Universities; Contemporary Art - to which a Special Mention is dedicated for the first time this year and which includes visual arts, multimedia installations, urban arts, digital art, photography - is present in 6 projects and confirms itself as a language increasingly adopted by Companies; Diffused Festivals, Cultural Reviews, Multidisciplinary Events have finally been able to win back their audience after a year of inactivity".
Public and private cultural institutions and operators, companies, grant-making foundations and communication agencies are therefore the protagonists of this alliance that will be celebrated with the usual awards workshop that in the first week of July will assign 3 First Category Prizes and 6 Special Mentions: Digital Innovation in Arts (in collaboration with Fondazione Italiana Accenture), CCR – Corporate Cultural Responsibility (in collaboration with the Salone della CSR e dell’Innovazione sociale), Under 35 (in collaboration with Patrimonio Cultura), Networking in Arts, Contemporary Art + Business (in collaboration with Artissima).
The winners of the three main categories will be awarded the new Artist Awards, while the Special Mentions will be reserved for training awards, masters in management and cultural promotion offered by: Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, IULM University, 24ORE Business School, Scuola di Fundraising Roma, Upa.
