Pozzuoli. The sudden death of Neapolitan psychiatrist Benedetto Pepe is sure to spark controversy.
Paolo Ficco, national president of Saues, the autonomous union for health emergencies, expressed his regret for the 118 ambulance's lack of prompt response .
Ficco, in giving the news of the death of Benedetto Pepe, national coordinator of the union, a Neapolitan psychiatrist who died last night in Pozzuoli, speaks of delays in rescue efforts.
Pepe, according to Ficco, was having dinner with some doctors when he was taken ill.
“With sorrow for his passing – writes Ficco – we express regret for the lack of promptness in the intervention of the 118 ambulance, long awaited in the restaurant where the doctors present had promptly activated to perform the first possible aid in the case”.
Ficco remembers Pepe as an "exemplary father" and a "rare example of generosity at work and in his social life." Pepe had also been a candidate for the Five Star Movement in the 2019 European elections.
