Neapolitans have always been accustomed to tackling steps of all kinds. Hundreds of them in very narrow alleys or in large monumental stairways built and designed by famous and visionary architects of the past. And right in the heart of this city, where art meets history, “Primavera Intelligente” returns, on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May.
The ancient staircase built in 1869 by Gaetano Filangieri, which starts from Corso Vittorio Emanuele and arrives at Piazza Montesanto, is once again full of life with markets, live and DJ sets, street food, workshops and meetings open to all, even the little ones.
A set of activities to help the city and its people reclaim spaces that are sometimes forgotten, and that give back, without distorting it, the Montesanto steps to everyone.
The idea is of “Intelligent Neighborhood”, a cultural center and urban laboratory of innovative practices with 1000 square meters of covered space and a large garden. The result of a long urban regeneration project, QI opened in 2013 to contribute to the construction of the ecological and digital metropolis of the future and implement new models of sustainable development. QI is a coworking space, an activator of project dynamics, a biobar and a space for social and cultural events.
It overlooks the ancient Scalone di Montesanto, guarding and taking care of it.
This year, the Scala di Montesanto was chosen by the FAI as one of the Places of the Heart and, in conjunction with the “Intelligent Spring”, a signature collection will be opened for the definitive redevelopment of the monumental staircase.
