Amalfi. Tourists with hotel reservations and homeowners who are not residents of the Amalfi Coast will be able to travel on the Strada Statale 163 “Amalfitana” even on days when alternate license plates are required, as established by the Anas ordinance.
This was decided during a meeting convened by the prefect of Salerno, Francesco Russo, to analyze the critical issues related to vehicular traffic on the Amalfi state road, in particular following the adoption of the Anas ordinance establishing alternate license plate traffic from 10 am to 18 pm on weekends in July and September, for the entire month of August, during Easter week until Easter Monday, and from April 24 to May 2.
The meeting was attended by the mayors of the municipalities of the Amalfi Coast, the head of the Campania territorial structure of Anas and the president of Confindustria Salerno and the "corrections" proposed by the Conference of Mayors of the Coast were analyzed. from AMALFI, shared by the participants at the table.
Circulation will therefore be permitted, during the time slots in which alternate license plates are provided, also to the following categories: residents of the municipality of Agerola who will be able to circulate freely, in consideration of the substantial territorial continuity between the municipality of Agerola and the Amalfi Coast, where many Agerola residents travel daily for work reasons; guests of hotel and non-hotel facilities, with a regular reservation, limited to the travel necessary for arrival (check-in) and departure (check-out); employees who are not residents of the Amalfi Coast, with a regular contract and working in public and private facilities in the municipalities of the Coast, limited to the travel necessary to and from the workplace; owners of homes who are not residents of the Amalfi Coast, subject to certification by the municipalities where the homes are located.
The agreements formalized in the Prefecture will flow into specific ordinances that will be adopted uniformly by the individual Municipalities, which will also monitor the possession of the "enabling titles" for circulation.
