Arzano. City under the control of the Camorra, rackets and baby gangs. Lack of roadblocks and controls on the territory: appeal to the Minister of the Interior Lamorgese.

The complaint by the journalist under escort Mimmo Rubio lays bare how Arzano has become the rear light for security in the municipalities north of Naples. In fact, according to Rubio, the criminal activities of the 167 clan of Arzano have already resumed.

Despite the decapitation of the gang by the Carabinieri with the maxi raid of last April 25th and with the last blitz of the weekend culminating with the capture on the beach of the fugitive Luigi Piscopo, alias “o sicc”, the local Camorra has not stopped in this period of time.

“According to radio-city – Rubio further specifies -, some members of the clan at liberty are already asking for protection money in the city. Therefore, a greater presence of law enforcement forces is needed on the territory (drug dealing has also resumed in the historic center) and, at the same time, courage is needed on the part of shopkeepers and entrepreneurs under extortion to report, even anonymously, to the anti-racket associations”.

The alleys and the outskirts that make old Arzano an impregnable fortress are the same ones that make it unlivable and always condemn it to occupy the lowest places in the safety rankings, giving the outside the image of a hellish town, where crime is partly accepted as an integral part of the social context.

The Camorra and the absence of a courageous policy are slowly desertifying the commercial fabric. With industries increasingly detached from the local context. Almost two worlds divided. But the responsibility would be mainly political, and the demonstration is the three dissolutions for Camorra.

And in this very delicate phase, net of the budget to be approved and awaited by the Audit Office, of the warnings from the Prefect Palomba, of the judicial investigations, of the referrals to trial, of the acquisition of abuses still at a standstill, of the parliamentary questions, of the demolitions of the bosses' houses still frozen and of the convicted employees never subjected to disciplinary proceedings: it is demonstrated once again how politics is understood exclusively as political positioning and management.

Even in this historical moment, what appears is that the municipality has given priority to external appointments of managers for a “temporary” period and under “political control” in the sectors that have demonstrated the greatest mafia vulnerabilities but which determine consensus.

With the risk of infiltration in construction, competitions, PUC, services and assignments.
