Arzano. The Carabinieri get confused among the bathers of Blue Bay in the municipality of Sessa Aurunca and arrest a fugitive from the 167 clan. He had escaped the blitz on 25 April. He was going to beach with family.
The Carabinieri of the investigative unit of Castello di Cisterna have located and arrested in Sessa Aurunca, precisely in the seaside resort of Baia Azzurra, the fugitive Luigi Piscopo, 33 years old from Arzano, seriously suspected of being part of the Arzano Camorra group known as the "167" and of having participated in an association aimed at drug dealing, within the aforementioned Camorra association.
The young man, on the hot Sunday morning, was stopped as he was preparing to reach the beach of the well-known tourist resort, waiting for him were the military of the Arma who prevented him from reaching the shore.
Luigi Piscopo had been unavailable since April 25th. That day he had evaded a custodial order in prison by virtue of which the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Castello di Cisterna had arrested 27 people, between bosses and followers of the aforementioned criminal group.
After the arrest of Alterio Gennaro, also captured by the military of Castello di Cisterna on May 21st in the seaside town of Vietri sul Mare, Piscopo was the last to have escaped the aforementioned precautionary measure. With his arrest, all 29 recipients of the aforementioned order were brought to justice.
On April 25, the Carabinieri executed 27 restrictive measures, including 23 in prison, 4 under house arrest and the preventive seizure of a car rental company, against as many suspects seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of the crimes of mafia association, association for the purpose of drug dealing and possession for the purpose of dealing, illegal possession of weapons, extortion, receiving stolen goods and fraudulent transfer of assets.
The investigative activity, carried out by the Investigative Unit from December 2018 to November 2021 with the coordination of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Napoli, has allowed, in short, to document the operations of a Camorra association called "167", in Arzano and surrounding municipalities, as a direct derivation of the consortium BELOVED-PAGAN, rooted in the area north of Naples.
Furthermore, the operation of three drug dealing areas in Arzano (of cocaine, heroin, crack, marijuana and hashish) and the commission of multiple extortion episodes, to the detriment of Arzano traders, were discovered.
The clan had also registered a fictitious car rental company, which was in fact managed by one of the suspects.
