“I have learned through the reports of the trade unions that in all the operational units there are serious difficulties due to the daily shortage of personnel, a shortage so great as to threaten the closure of the departments of the Neonatal Operating Unit and the NICU, thus seriously compromising the level of assistance for a population that can triple during the summer”. This was stated by the president of the Special Commission for Internal Areas and regional councilor of the 5 Star Movement Michele Cammarano.
“I have urgently requested a meeting with the new general manager in order to activate all the extraordinary procedures to find medical staff, thus avoiding a possible closure or downsizing of necessary departments. It is not possible to allow serious staff shortages to jeopardize the health and life of citizens. For this reason, not only must the closure of departments be absolutely avoided, but they must be strengthened, respecting the minimum safety standards and guaranteeing everyone's right to health”.
