Missing Child Found in Belluno Mountains After a Night Out

Francesco, the nine-year-old boy who disappeared Friday evening in the woods of Tambre, in the Belluno area, while out walking with his father, has been found and is safe.

After a night spent out in the cold, the little boy was spotted by a hiker who was participating in the search and was signaled with broad gestures to a helicopter that was patrolling the area. At that point he was hoisted onto the aircraft by two firefighters and taken to the base camp where he was returned to his parents.

The child, who resides with his family in Mestre, was able to eat and drink before being taken to the emergency room for a check-up. Francesco was in Filon del Vivaio, 3-4 kilometers from the area of ​​woods and pastures where he disappeared, above Col Indes.

The search continued at night with the use of a drone, in addition to about one hundred men, including professionals and volunteers, and molecular dog units. There was concern because during the night the temperature dropped to 10 degrees and the little boy was wearing a sleeveless vest and shorts.

The search had been suspended shortly after 2.30:XNUMX and had restarted at dawn from the base camp set up in the parking lot of the Monte Cavallo farmhouse. The family has a house where they spend their holidays in the nearby hamlet of Sant'Anna.

The child had been lost sight of around 19:113 pm: the father had stopped to read a sign at the edge of the woods and when he had turned around Francesco had disappeared. After an initial search on the large meadow and at the edge of the woods, the man alerted XNUMX.

His mother was convinced that he could find his way home on his own, since he is a very methodical child with a strong ability to orient himself.
