Caivano, illegal waste disposal: 2 people reported and seizure of approximately 200 square meters and 2 workshops.

The Carabinieri Forestali are engaged in a large control campaign aimed at verifying the management of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment). This waste is of two categories: domestic WEEE and professional WEEE.

The Carabinieri of the Naples Forestry Station checked a company in Caivano that deals with the wholesale and retail sale of new and used household appliances. The owner of the business was reported at large for illegal waste management. The Carabinieri Forestry found an area where waste from electronic equipment had been accumulated with hazardous waste contained inside refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines.

In another operation, again in Caivano, the forest rangers reported the sole director of another business where household appliances are also sold.

In this case too, the Carabinieri found that the entrepreneur was managing waste electronic equipment without any authorization, grouping it together in an area that he had designated as a warehouse.

The man also obtained spare parts from the equipment.
