Campania, first fires, Civil Protection aircraft in Pozzuoli and Carinola. Three fires, the most serious on Monte Barbaro.
Twenty men from the Forest Fire Service of the Civil Protection of the Region, 7 vehicles equipped with water pumps and 4 aircraft have been at work since this morning in Campania, to fight three fires that have developed in Pozzuoli, in the province of NAPLES, Carinola and Arienzo, in the province of Caserta. The largest fire was recorded in the Monte Barbaro area, in the territory of Pozzuoli. On site, with the coordination of the Civil Protection of the Campania Region, the director of firefighting operations, who is operating from the ground with the help of two teams from the forest fire service and from Sma Campania and with the use of 3 aircraft: a helicopter from the Campania Region, a Canadair and a helicopter from the national air fleet. The fire affects about 10 hectares of Mediterranean scrub above Via Campana. Inside the green area there are also several vineyards. The intervention is still ongoing, in the area there are also 5 power lines: 3 on the main slope and two on the side of the adjacent Monte Angelo. The flames in Carinola that extend over 4 hectares in the Massa San Salvatore area are almost completely extinguished, thanks to the help of a regional helicopter. Regional civil protection teams are also at work in Arienzo.
