Tomorrow, Tuesday 28 June (16.00:XNUMX p.m.), at the Lapis Museum in Naples (Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore alla Pietrasanta, Piazzetta Pietrasanta) there will be a press conference to present the exhibition “Convivia. The taste of the ancients”, financed and promoted by the Campania Region through Scabec, in collaboration with the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, the Virtual Archaeological Museum of Ercolano, the Lapis Museum, the Department of Agriculture of the Federico II University of Naples, Naus Editoria.
The exhibition tells the story of the eating habits of the ancient world, through a narrative that outlines the cultural process that leads from agriculture to food culture. Tools, pottery and edible fossils from the MANN Collections – including the oldest bottle of olive oil in the world – and buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD are part of a journey where multimedia insights and 3D reconstructions accompany the discovery of Campania felix.
