The ten-year series of concerts at Villa San Michele, the former home of the doctor and writer Axel Munthe, one of the most visited museums in Campania and home to the Swedish institutions in Capri, will start again on Friday 1 July at 20 pm.

The Swedish soprano, star of the international opera world, Nina Stemme, will open “A Summer to Dream About – The Evenings of 2022” with the virtuoso pianist Roland Pöntinen.

Together, they will perform a repertoire dedicated to the most famous composers of all time: Richard Wagner, Jean Sibelius, Richard Strauss and Kurt Weill.

Superintendent Kristina Kappelin, happy with the success of the recent Swedish Film Festival that kicked off the cultural program organized by the Swedish foundation, is proud to open the musical events with such a famous artist: “Nina Stemme has sung and enchanted audiences at all the greatest and most prestigious opera houses, from the Metropolitan in New York to La Scala in Milan.

Having her with us, under the stars at Villa San Michele, is an honor and a huge satisfaction. It shows the attraction of Villa San Michele also to world-class artists, for its beauty and for its fabulous audience".

The concert series will take place, as usual, every Friday until August 12, with the musical consultancy of Bo Löfvendahl thanks to the contribution of Progetto Piano and the patronage of the Swedish Embassy.

The program will continue on July 8th at 20 pm with mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg and pianist Magnus Svensson who will dedicate the evening to the most beautiful pages of Handel and Hayden.

On July 15th at 20pm, an all-female duo, formed by soprano Elin Rombo and pianist Sharon Rogers, will fill the panoramic terrace with Scandinavian notes and will pay a special tribute to the genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

On Friday 22 July at 20 pm the protagonist will be the ensemble Camerata Nordica, a sextet composed of violinists Cellerina Park and Hanna Helgegren, violists Cédric Robin and Vladimir Percevic and cellists Sabina Sandri-Olsson and Zéphyrin Rey-Bellet.

Ennio Morricone and Astor Piazzolla will be performed on Friday 29 July at 20pm by saxophonist Anders Paulsson and guitarist Jacob Kellermann.

Seven days later, on Friday 5 August at 20pm, pianist Angelo Villari will be the protagonist of a recital dedicated to Galuppi, Schumann, Schubert and Respighi.

The last performance of the series will be on Friday 12 August at 20pm, with maestro Vittorio Bresciani, who will dedicate the entire evening to Clude Debussy.

From August 23 to 26, an event that is gathering more and more consensus returns for the fourth year: “Il Salotto della Sfinge”. The 2022 edition will be a tribute to the female world with guests who, like a happening among friends, will talk about their work, reveal the behind the scenes, and satisfy the public's curiosity.

The event continues on September 9th with the inauguration of the contemporary art project Festival del Paesaggio curated by Arianna Rosica and Gianluca Riccio, which will transform Villa San Michele into a real art gallery, enriching it with masterpieces by artists known and appreciated throughout the world.
