Eugenio Bennato will inaugurate the concert program of “Chi tene 'o mare – Festival del Mare del Miglio d'oro” on Saturday, July 2nd. The program is organized by La Bazzarra and funded by the Campania Region – Flag Litorale Miglio d'oro, with the collaboration of the municipalities of Portici, Ercolano, Torre del Greco, and Torre Annunziata.

Kicked off last March – with activities for schools, film and photography workshops, guided tours, shows and conferences focused on the theme of the sea – the festival directed by Gigi Di Luca is coming to life with a series of live events on the weekends of July.

In the four cities of the Gulf of Naples involved in the project – Portici (2 and 3 July), Torre Annunziata (9 and 10 July), Ercolano (16 and 17 July) and Torre del Greco (23 and 24 July) – Enzo Gragnaniello, James Senese, Don Pasta, Maurizio Capone are expected. And again, Javier Girotto with Nuevo Tango, Ayom, Andrea Rea Trio, Ars Nova Napoli and the theatrical show “Colapesce oltre la leggenda”.

Also on the program are taste workshops, cooking shows, exhibition stands and poetic narrations, which will anticipate the performances on the main stage.

On the first weekend of July the festival arrives in Portici: at Villa Mascolo, on Saturday 2nd July from 21pm, Eugenio Bennato will be on stage. The Neapolitan singer-songwriter presents the classics that have marked his forty-year career and new works inspired as always by the very current themes of integration, the valorization of Mediterranean identities and the southern hemisphere.

On stage, together with Bennato (vocals, classical guitar, chitarra battente, mandola) there will be Vincenzo Lambiase (classical and electric guitar), Sonia Totaro (dance, vocals), Francesca Del Duca (drums, percussion, vocals) and Stefano Simonetta (bass, acoustic guitar, vocals).

On Sunday 3 July, Villa Mascolo will host the folk of Ars Nova Napoli, with their “E senza acqua la terra more”, published by Apogeo Records. The concert will be preceded by the eccentric show by Don Pasta: the DJ, economist, journalist, and food enthusiast, considered by the New York Times to be one of the most inventive food activists, will present “United Food of Costa Vesuviana”, with a documentary video shot in the Vesuvian cities and where music meets cuisine.

The “Chi tene 'o mare” festival will continue in Torre Annunziata, where Nuevo Tango, a trio composed of Argentine saxophonist Javier Girotto with Gianni Iorio on bandoneon and Alessandro Gwis on piano and electronics, are expected at Villa del Parnaso on July 9 at 21 pm. The following day, again at 21 pm, space will be given to Ayom, a multi-ethnic band of 6 musicians from Angola, Brazil, Greece and Italy with singer and percussionist Jabu Morales at the center of the stage.

On the third weekend of July the festival then moves to Ercolano. On July 16 at the Parco Urbano del Miglio D'Oro, at 21 pm, Enzo Gragnaniello is expected in concert. On Sunday July 17, instead, the pianist Andrea Rea will perform in a trio with Daniele Sorrentino on bass and Lorenzo Tucci on drums, at the Antico Bagno Favorita at 20 pm with spectators sitting on the beach.

The final act of this first edition will be held in Torre del Greco. On July 23rd at the Port Area of the city of corals, a double set will be staged from 20 pm with the theatrical show “Colapesce oltre la leggenda”, directed by Pietro Pignatelli with Alessandro D'Auria together with other actors and the live performance by Maurizio Capone entitled “Come suona il Caos”.
