Frangenti – Cetara Arts Festival, Giorgio Poi and Cristina Donà the first two events: Saturday 23rd and Saturday 30th July.

The theatre and music festival directed by Vincenzo Albano will take place from 23 to 30 July and from 25 August to 3 September in the splendid setting of the seaside village of Cetara (Sa). The sixth edition of Frangenti – Cetara Arts Festival opens to live author music while remaining firmly anchored to the traditional theatre programme that will be announced in the coming weeks together with other concerts.

The festival, with a strong artistic and cultural connotation, contributes to the promotion of art as a central value in the actions of territorial politics, also in terms of tourism, environment and economy.

The village of Cetara, among the first municipalities of the Amalfi Coast, is an important local and international fishing center that has made its scenic and food and wine beauties a major tourist attraction. It stands at the foot of Mount Falerio and, stretching out in a deep valley flanked by vineyards and citrus groves, opens out like a fan onto the narrow flat strip at sea level. The typical gastronomy of this village - a production center of the anchovy sauce - is essentially fish-based.

The first two unmissable events of Frangenti – Cetara Arts Festival are the exclusive concerts of two of the most renowned musicians and singer-songwriters of the contemporary singer-songwriter scene: Giorgio Poi on July 23 and Cristina Donà on July 30, both performing in the port basin area, recently expanded with the construction of an arena for live performances.

With the “Tour Estate 2022”. The live shows will be an opportunity to listen again to the singer-songwriter's latest recording project “Gommapiuma” (Bomba Dischi/Island Records), as well as the hits that made him loved by the public.

Giorgio Poi was born in Novara but raised in Rome. After trips to London, Berlin and the States, in 2017 “Fa Niente” was released by Bomba Dischi/Universal and was welcomed with great favor by the press and critics. An exceptional singer-songwriter and musician with an incessant live activity and fruitful collaborations with artists on the Italian and international scene, he released his second album “Smog” in 2019.

After having signed the original soundtrack of Summertime (Netflix), he returns in autumn 2021 with “I Pomeriggi”, a single that marks his return to the scene, with “Giorni Felici”, written inspired by the book of the same name by the cartoonist Zuzu, who for the occasion also curated the official cover of the song, and “Rococò”.

“deSidera”, the latest album by the Milanese singer-songwriter, is a harsh and multifaceted work, with marked features and strong brush strokes. In the ten songs that compose it, our artist investigates the current human condition as a reflection of a sum of individual choices and behaviors. A point of view that discovers truths with hard and raw features, digs deep and shakes, but also tries to imagine possible horizons.

Cristina Donà began her long and happy artistic career in the early nineties and was immediately defined as "one of the most original voices on the Italian music scene".

Cristina has helped define a new season of Mediterranean rock, managing to gain the acclaim of great figures such as Robert Wyatt, David Byrne and Peter Walsh (already producer of Scott Walker, Peter Gabriel and Simple Minds).

The first Italian artist to perform at the Meltdown Festival in London, Cristina Donà is certainly one of the few Italian artists capable of “rivaling” her great colleagues abroad who, just like her, have reinvented the model of performer and author in rock music. Always capable of renewing herself, Cristina Donà has become first a point of reference, then an inspiring figure for the new generations of Italian musicians.
