Ischia, the woman who hit the army marshal was arrested: she was drunk while driving

Ischia. The woman who struck and killed Army Marshal Cassandra Mele has been arrested: she was driving drunk.

In fact, the 26 year old girl from Ischia tested positive to the alcohol test this morning, driving of her car, collided with the bicycle of Army Corporal Cassandra Mele, 37, killing her.

The Carabinieri arrested her for road homicide. She is under house arrest awaiting trial. Around 7 Apples she was riding her bike via Vico when it hit the car driven by the twenty-six-year-old who was coming from the opposite direction.

It was in theisland that she called “my home”, on leave. Three of his passions: the sea, his land that he had tattooed on his body and the bike. Every time he arrived in Ischia, he jumped on the saddle and between climbs and descents, he enjoyed the views.

It is on that very bike that Cassandra Mele, , Marshal Major of the Italian Army, serving in the Berardi Barracks of the Third Alpine Regiment, found death.

His was a life dedicated to the uniform with which he traveled the world in difficult countries. Peacekeeping Missions in Afghanistan and recently also on the border with Ukraine to help refugees.

On the Facebook page . dozens of photos of his 'escape' to Ischia. In his last story almost a prophetic sentence: “Pain almost always gives you courage and it's its way of getting forgiveness”, had written.
