This morning, officers from the San Ferdinando Police Station and personnel from the Naples Harbor Master's Office and Coast Guard carried out an extraordinary patrol of the area and verified the legality of moorings, aimed at combating illegal construction on public maritime property in the waters off the Mergellina area.
During the operation, the police officers found that, on a dock located on a state-owned area near the Rotonda Diaz, a man had positioned 3 wooden cabins and, from a reconnaissance carried out by the 58nd Nucleus of Underwater Operators of the Coast Guard, it was also ascertained that he had set up a completely illegal mooring system to which 30 vessels were anchored, XNUMX of which were removed by their respective owners, while the remainder were given a notice stating the obligation to remove them upon presentation to the Port Authority.
A 61-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record has been reported for defacing and soiling other people's property, invasion of land or buildings and illegal occupation of public space as provided for by the Navigation Code.
