Naples weather update, compared to this morning the sultriness and extreme heat are getting worse in the main Italian cities. On June 30, the cities with red dot for heat waves will rise to 22, compared to the 13 expected today:
Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Campobasso, Catania, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Genoa, Latina, Messina, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, Rieti, Rome, Trieste, Venice, Verona, Viterbo. While 2 others will have the orange sticker (Milan and Brescia) and 3 yellow (Bolzano, Genoa and Turin).
This is indicated by the bulletins of the Ministry of Health on heat waves, which monitor 27 provincial capitals.
This is a worsening that began yesterday, when the cities with a red dot were 'just' 2, while 23 with an orange dot and 2 yellow, and which continued today, in which the cities with an orange dot are 9, those with a yellow dot 5 and those with a red dot are 13 (and will remain under maximum alert for both June 28, 29 and 30) namely:
Cagliari, Campobasso, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Messina, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Reggio Calabria, Rieti and Rome. To these, tomorrow, June 29, will be added Ancona Bari, Bologna, Catania, Pescara and Viterbo for a total of 19.
On the 30th, Trieste, Venice and Verona will be added to the previous cities with a red dot. Bolzano, Genoa and Turin are the only 3 cities that will maintain a yellow dot in the three days considered. The rest of Italy, however, remains gripped by a torrid and increasing heat.
Heat waves occur when very high temperatures are recorded for several consecutive days, often associated with high humidity, strong solar radiation and lack of ventilation.
These climatic conditions, the Ministry of Health recalls, can represent a risk to the health of the population, especially vulnerable subjects, such as the elderly, chronically ill, children, pregnant women.
