NapoliYesterday morning the officers of the San Carlo-Arena Police Station, on orders from the Operations Centre, intervened in via Miano following a report of a car theft.
The police officers, who arrived on the scene, were approached by the owner who said that, shortly before, he had noticed a man tinkering next to his parked vehicle and that, at the sight of him, he had left some burglary tools on the ground and then fled, on board a car driven by another person, in the direction of via Bosco di Capodimonte.

At that time, the operators communicated to the Operations Centre the descriptions of the vehicle and the fugitives who, shortly after, were intercepted and blocked by two patrol cars from the General Prevention Office in via Santa Teresa degli Scalzi and found in possession of other tools suitable for burglary and a cut car catalytic converter, the provenance of which the two were unable to explain.
The two, Neapolitans aged 40 and 59 with criminal records, were reported for attempted aggravated theft, receiving stolen goods and unjustified possession of altered keys or lock picks; in addition, the 40-year-old was also charged with two violations of the Highway Code for driving without a license and lack of insurance coverage.
Finally, the car they were travelling in was subjected to administrative seizure.
