“Naples is attracting more and more tourists: after the boom in attendance since the first weekend of May, when over 97 thousand people were counted in the city, there is a growing trend given the 110 thousand visitors in the city in recent days, with an increase also in nights spent in accommodation facilities. Naples is popular and the entire related industry benefits from it synergistically”.
The Councillor for Tourism and Productive Activities expresses satisfaction Common of Naples Teresa Armato commenting on the data released by the trade associations in reference to the city's presence and the revenues of the supply chain (34.9 million between accommodation facilities and related industries).
"It's not hit-and-run tourism: accommodation facilities are now recording long stays of up to 4 nights compared to 2,7 in 2019. Many Italians are arriving in the city, but especially foreigners, with a strong presence of Europeans. And the age of tourists has also dropped: more and more young people are crowding museums and places of art, such as the Catacombs or the Treasure of San Gennaro, also attracted by the many related structures (restaurants, bars, street food, crafts)".
“To make the sector increasingly strategic, in the new budget forecast we have maintained the commitment to invest 30% of the tourist tax for tourism, 3 million and 600 thousand euros”, concludes the councilor.
