Napoli. A part of the free beach of Rotonda Diaz, known as Mappatella Beach, has turned into a muddy swamp.
In fact, a pool of water has been stagnant for some time, where a real ecosystem has been created, dominated by moss and lichen, which splits the beach in two, causing degradation and miasmas and acting as a repellent for many bathers and tourists.

The situation had already been addressed by the councillors and environmentalists of Europa Verde, the regional councillor Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the municipal councillors Lorenzo Pascucci and Gianni Caselli, but after months, as reported by a bather, there have been no improvements.
“Perhaps the issue of free beaches is taken of little importance?” - comment Borrelli and Pascucci - “Because it almost seems that everything is being done to scare visitors away from our city and to make unusable one of the few accessible free beaches left in the city and certainly the most important. Now we demand urgent interventions from the Municipality given that for months we have been reporting this filthy swamp that has filled up with garbage. A disgusting spectacle.”
