Naples, rents a jeep in Rome and does not return it: the 75-year-old driver reported.
At the end of an investigative activity delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rome, the agents of the Central Investigative Operations Unit of the Local Police of Naples have tracked down and seized a Jeep Renegade, rented on a long-term basis from an agency in the capital and then disappeared.
The first investigations conducted by the Judicial Police had directed the searches towards Naples and therefore the subsequent activities were delegated to the specialized unit of the Neapolitan Municipal Police which managed to trace the most recent movements of the car in the Pianura area.
The vehicle was intercepted while moving along via Sartania and subsequently stopped in the Agnano area. The driver was a 75-year-old Neapolitan citizen who was unable to justify the origin of the vehicle and what title he had at his disposal.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the man was known to the police for several property crimes, including receiving stolen goods. Inside the car, documents and checks of dubious origin were found, vehicle registration documents registered to third parties but with altered data as if they were duplicates of the same booklet, a test license plate not registered to the driver and dozens of checks from various credit institutions, some of which were blank, for a total amount of approximately 90 thousand euros.
All the material was subjected to preventive seizure pending the outcome of the investigations into its nature and possession.
In the immediate aftermath, however, the arrested person was reported for misappropriation and the vehicle was seized and made available to the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, in execution of its tracing order.
