Naples. It was approved today by the City Council, upon proposal of theassessor to the Environment and the Sea Paul Mancuso, a resolution on the open and secure management of public beaches during the 2022 bathing season in the city.

This is what we read in a note. “The measure first of all provides for the expansion of possible access to public beaches, which goes from 350 to 400 per Siren Bath – it is explained – In light of the episodes of violence recorded in recent weeks which lead to the need for greater controls in the collective interest in line with the provisions established in this regard by the Port Authority.

The resolution also provides for the numerical tracking of bathers who access the two stretches of public beach between Palazzo Donn'Anna and the following beaches under state concession: Bagno Sirena (maximum 400 people) Ideal bathroom (maximum 12 people) and Elena bathroom (12 people).

The owners of the beaches will take charge – from 8am to 18pm – of opening and closing access from Via Posillipo, to numerically control access to the beaches and assistance to lifeguards at sea”.

“This is a very important measure – underlined Councillor Mancuso – which we have taken in agreement with the Lidi managers and with thePort Authority and thanks to which we guarantee free and safe access: we will thus be able to avoid the problems of overcrowding on public beaches which had caused intolerable episodes of violence in recent weeks.

The Administration is making a huge effort both to guarantee citizens' accessibility to public beaches and to maintain the safety of these small stretches of beach".
