Phenomena, the second edition of the Italian trade fair dedicated to female entrepreneurs in the food, fashion and design sectors.
There are 73 female entrepreneurs from southern Italy (63 in the food sector and 10 in the design sector) selected for Phenomena, the first and only Italian trade fair dedicated to female-led companies in three sectors of excellence of Made in Italy: design, fashion and food.
Like the debut edition, in July last year, also for the 2022 edition, which will be held on 1 and 2 July at the Aurum in Pescara, it is conceived and organized by IFTA, with the support of ICE-Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies within the scope of the Southern Export Plan - PES 2, of the Abruzzo Region, of the Chamber of Commerce of Chieti and Pescara and its Development Agency, of the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Sasso d'Italia, of the CIF (Committee for Female Entrepreneurship) and of the Municipality of Pescara, in agreement with Cna Federmoda.
The second edition of Phenomena intends to focus the offer for foreign buyers from 18 countries (Albania, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Jordan, Latvia, Morocco, Norway, Qatar, Serbia, Singapore, Sweden and the UK) on a total of 115 agri-food companies from the 8 Southern Regions involved in the Pes 2 Plan, namely Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily.
The “pink quotas” of the exhibition will be 63 from the food sector and will exhibit their products on Friday 1 July alone (Sala D'Annunzio) while 10 will be the artists and jewellery designers on display in the Sala Europa of the Aurum, both on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 July.
A second tranche of food companies, with another 52 mixed-run companies, will be on display on Saturday 2 July.
Fashion will be the star of the evening on Friday 1 July, with a fashion show-performance by the eco-sustainable brand Vusciché curated by the Hoba Group, which will interpret the creations of the designer Diana Eugeni, owner of the brand from Roseto degli Abruzzi.

The fashion show will be an integral part of the gala evening in the internal courtyard of the Aurum, hosted by Tiziana Panella, journalist and well-known television personality of La7, who for years has hosted the political and current affairs program “Tagadà”.
During the gala 8 women from the South will be awarded:
– Pina Amarelli, Calabrian entrepreneur, Knight of Labor, the tenacious Lady Liquirizia famous throughout the world
– Licia Giaquinto, the writer from Campania who fights to combat the degradation and state of abandonment in which the historic village of Aterrana, in the province of Avellino, finds itself
– Angela Procida, from Campania, Italian Paralympic swimming champion whose motto is “If you can dream it, you can do it”
– Antonella Salvatore, from Molise, journalist for Ansa and author of the book “L'Africa nel cuore”
– Fiorella Bafile, the Abruzzo entrepreneur at the head of Tindora, the L'Aquila organic cosmetics brand
– Anna Maria Di Rienzo the entrepreneur from Abruzzo, CEO of the Dyloan Group that works for the big international fashion brands.
Also awarded will be: an entrepreneur from the agri-food sector voted by foreign buyers and one from the Phenomena Design area designated by the 63 ladies of food.
Phenomena is the only event that concretely puts women at the center of media attention and business, together with the relaunch of female entrepreneurship in Southern Italy, present and increasingly important in the Italian production system. The data prove it.
In fact, if the national average of businesses managed by women is 22%, in the Southern regions the percentage jumps to 27,4% in Molise, 26,4% in Basilicata, 25% in Abruzzo, 24,4% in Sicily, far exceeding the numbers of regions such as Lombardy (18,9%), Veneto (18,9%), Trentino Alto Adige (18,1%).
Because women from the South are tenacious, but also far-sighted: in order not to leave their land, not being able to rely on an entrepreneurial fabric, scarce if not non-existent, they roll up their sleeves and start a business on their own. With success.
