Castellammare, EAV driver beaten: the president meets the prefect. The carabinieri are investigating, De Gregorio expresses solidarity with the driver.
The driver of an Eav bus (Campania Region transport holding) was attacked yesterday evening in Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples. From an initial summary reconstruction provided by the Carabinieri of the Castellammare company, still to be verified, the driver allegedly argued with a man over traffic issues in Piazza Matteotti.
The man, who had parked his car in the bus bay, responded by punching the driver in the face when he asked him to move the car.
The victim was examined at the emergency room of the San Leonardo hospital and was discharged. The Carabinieri of the Castellammare company are investigating the incident.
The president of Eav, Umberto De Gregorio, expresses his "solidarity with Simone, a driver recently hired by Eav, attacked while he was parking. But how can you work in this wild territory?", asks De Gregorio in a post published on his Facebook page, in which he announces that he was summoned by the prefect of Naples "at my request" to address "the issue of crowds, security and vandalism".
