Pozzuoli. Anti-drug blitz by the Carabinieri of the operational section of Pozzuoli who from the Phlegraean city arrived to Qualiano. Those arrested for production, trafficking and possession of drugs were Gennaro Alfano, a 30-year-old from Pozzuoli already known to the police, Pasquale Lucci, a 42-year-old from Qualiano also known and the mother of the latter who is 68 years old and lives with her son.
The Carabinieri noticed them in the Pozzuoli area not too far from via Miliscola and followed them and then stopped them. In Lucci's pockets there were 135 grams of cocaine divided into vacuum-packed packages. Alfano also had two gummed paper packages and inside there were another 10 grams of the same drug. The searches began and in Qualiano's home the Carabinieri found another 950 grams of cocaine for a total of one kilo and 100 grams or so. The 950 grams were divided into 10 packages.
During the search, the military found and seized material for packaging the drug, vacuum packing equipment that the Carabinieri found still warm, a video surveillance system consisting of 5 video cameras and a monitor.
The arrested woman was transferred to the women's prison in Pozzuoli while the other two were transferred to the prison in Naples - Poggioreale.
