Pozzuoli. The fire that is affecting the Phlegraean area from Mount Barbaro to Carney Park is substantially under control. This was communicated by the Civil Protection of the Campania Region, at work for three days, which this morning is carrying out an inspection also with the help of a helicopter to verify the state of the situation and possibly put out the last small fumaroles remaining and avoid a resurgence.
We will have to wait a few more hours to define the fire as extinguished and the situation returned to normal. Much will depend on the weather conditions.
According to an initial estimate of the damage, 80 hectares of forest have been burned, including those inside the first ring of fire and those outside in the territory that reaches up to Quarto.
