The Punta Campanella-Penisola Sorrentina tourist area has gone from 3 Sails last year to 4 Sails this year in the Blue Guide.
The Tourist District Marine Protected Area Punta Campanella-Penisola Sorrentina has today obtained the 4 Sails from Legambiente and Touring Club that every year draw up a ranking on the quality of the sea, the services offered and the sustainability of about 100 Italian tourist locations. In Campania, the 5 sails, absolute excellence, fly only along the coast south of Salerno, in the districts of Cilento Antico and Costa del Mito.
But even the sites awarded the Four Sails are considered by the Blue Guide to be places of great quality, that is, capable of combining a valuable territory with good quality management of services.
Among these there is, in fact, the Punta Campanella MPA with the Sorrento Peninsula (Massa Lubrense, Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, Piano, Meta and Vico Equense)
The Four Sails also fly on the Amalfi Coast (Positano, Cetara, Amalfi, Vietri sul Mare, Praiano, Maiori, Minori and Conca dei Marmi) and on Capri (municipalities of Anacapri and Capri).
Satisfaction from the top management of the Marine Park, with President Lucio Cacace and Director Alberico Simioli: “It is certainly a good result but it is not enough for us and therefore, as far as we can, we will continue to invest energy in our territory, both to improve the quality of the waters and the marine environment, and to make the services more efficient and sustainable. With a special eye for the free beaches that, also this year, we will try to keep clean and enliven with information points for environmental awareness and education.”
The most awarded region overall is Sardinia with 6 districts that have obtained the maximum result, the Cinque Vele.
