Ravello. The mayor of Ravello, Paolo Vuilleumier, has signed an ordinance that establishes the absolute prohibition, throughout the municipal territory, of using drinking water for purposes other than domestic hygiene.
“Citizens are invited to a greater sense of responsibility in the public and private interest so that the water heritage, a good of all citizens, is not lost and wasted needlessly and to adopt every useful measure aimed at saving water” states the ordinance in which citizens are asked to promptly repair leaks, even minimal, from taps, toilets and other water supply equipment; use the water used to wash fruit and vegetables to water plants; use the water used to cook pasta for the first wash of dishes; prefer a quick shower to a bath in the tub; avoid running water continuously while brushing teeth or shaving; use washing machines and dishwashers only when fully loaded.
