Salerno Letteratura, the literary festival that, like every year in the same month since 18, has spread and exalted culture in the city, will be inaugurated on June 2022, 2013.
Now in its tenth edition, the festival, which will enliven the historic center until June 25, is inspired by the theme: “happiness is revolution”.
As stated in a press release from the event's press office, this is a courageous challenge as it is difficult to question happiness in a time of deep crisis like the one we are experiencing.
But taking inspiration from Pasolini, to whom a special itinerary will be dedicated – entitled Pasoliniana – happiness and revolution are profoundly linked.
The artistic direction of the event is entrusted to Gennaro Carillo – Professor of History of Political Thought in Naples, at the University Sister Orsola Benincasa and Frederick II – and to the swriter Paolo di Paolo.
In line with current events, the introductory report of the festival will be curated by the journalist Francesca Mannocchi, a respected war correspondent known, in 2022, for her courageous reporting on the conflict in Ukraine.
The city of Salerno boasts the privilege of celebrating the largest literary festival in the South, which features a significant presence of artists, including writers, musicians, and Italian and foreign actors.
It is therefore an event not to be missed, and not only for literature enthusiasts. In fact, a children's program is planned with the presence of qualified authors for a younger audience. There are also many new features this year, starting with the ten sections of the event in line with the ten-year anniversary.
Flash mobs and specialized performances, treasure hunts and courses/workshops for adults and children enrich the busy program and aim to broaden the audience, diversifying it.
There is, therefore, an artistic and cultural coherence in the choices of the program, but also a careful eye on reality.
For those interested, the complete program of the festival can be consulted on the website: www.salernoletteratura.com and on the Facebook page.
