San Giorgio, Budget Forecast and Dup approved

San Giorgio, Budget Forecast and Dup. Zinno approved: “Thanks to the entire majority.”

The compact majority approved, in the City Council, the Dup and the Budget Forecast 2022-2024. This is a document based on the rationalization of spending, on a concrete action to combat tax evasion and on the confirmation and strengthening of services at a social level (support and aid to the weaker groups).

“The budget forecast is based on two main lines: – explains Mayor Giorgio Zinno – the streamlining of revenue management, for which we are completing a process that began at the end of 2021 and which aims to improve the phase of assessment and forced collection of revenue. And for this I thank the tax, urban planning and heritage offices that are working hard to this end. And – continues - improving the services provided to citizens, particularly the weaker groups”.

Of extreme importance is the part concerning the projects presented within the PNRR that will allow to change the face of the city, creating unique opportunities for development and economic and social growth. In fact, we managed to intercept funding for an amount equal to more than 25 million euros.

Furthermore, the administration, with the work of the budget councilor Giuseppe Giordano, has managed to confirm in continuity with the year 2021, the provision of all services, despite the decrease in government funds to support the weaker groups; but at the same time the administration has also tried to give new life to delicate sectors such as environmental surveillance, security and for the first time we have allocated a small fund to support youth and female entrepreneurship.

The allocations for Sport and Youth Policies have also been confirmed; the special endowment fund for School is also planned for this year, in order to be close to our comprehensive institutes and trying to increasingly improve the educational offer.

On Social Services we have confirmed the services already planned and in addition, in 2022 the new Social Secretariat service started which will allow to verify the needs of citizens and to control the quality of what is provided, in addition to facilitating access to services by citizens. The summer camps for minors and the stay for the elderly have also been confirmed for this year.
