Gay club shooting leaves 2 dead and several injured in Norway. Police have arrested a suspect of Iranian origin but resident in Oslo.

Two people have died and several others were injured, some seriously, in a shooting at a gay club in central Oslo, The London, Norway.

Police soon after arrested a suspect and seized weapons.

According to the officers, the killer acted alone. It is assumed that it was a homophobic attack on the eve of Oslo Pride.

A witness reported seeing a man arrive at the premises “with a bag in his hand, from which he took a gun and started shooting.”

Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man, a resident of Oslo, a Norwegian citizen but originally from Iran, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and terrorist acts.

This was stated by the public prosecutor Christian Hatlo during a press conference according to Norwegian TV. The man has not yet been questioned but is said to have been known to the police before. Two people lost their lives in the shooting that in the middle of the night has upset the quiet life of the city.
